Glass headstones

Imagine a graveyard full of these on a sunny day. It would be so beautiful.

I would position mine so that every day when the sun was in the right position it would set fire to the roof of someone I hated, thus achieving revenge from beyond the grave every single day.

Learning how to be Human

The season of travel has picked up for me these past few weeks, and although it’s difficult to adjust to new time zones, methods of transportation, food, and people, it’s great to know that there are individuals out there willing to lend hospitality and advice to a complete stranger caught in the mix of it all.

At the same time, I’ve come across people that can’t take a second of their life to point a finger in the right direction, or those that are visually bothered to look up from their phone time on social media to share the beauty of the setting sun while waiting for the plane to arrive, or annoyed by a simple question on where the visitor’s parking is. Unfortunately, sometimes these reactions are the ones that stick to memory. I wish I had the courage to give them advice on how simple it is to lend a helping hand, let them know that not everyone knows where they are going, and not all are familiar with their surroundings.

It’s amazing how we live in a world of visual stimulation, yet we haven’t learned how tone of voice, facial expressions, and physical reaction has an impact on others.

In other words: Be nice, be aware, and put yourself in their shoes.
